Programme Introduction

We are excited to present the scientific programme plans for the 49th FEBS Congress, set against the vibrant and historic backdrop of Istanbul in 2025. The event promises to be an exceptional gathering, showcasing groundbreaking research and fostering collaborative dialogue between basic and applied molecular and cellular life sciences, including clinical biochemistry. The speaker list and programme schedule will be presented on the website in the autumn.

Plenary Lectures

The Congress will host several plenary lectures delivered by distinguished research leaders from around the globe, some of whom will be receiving FEBS medals or prizes. These sessions will provide a platform for sharing seminal discoveries and insights across diverse scientific disciplines.

Parallel Symposia Sessions

The 18 parallel scientific symposia sessions (each lasting 2 hours) will host lectures by three invited speakers. Additionally, two short and three speed talks will be selected from the submitted abstracts.

The symposia sessions, encompassing a wide array of fundamental and emerging topics, will be organized into several thematic symposia groups:
