Organization of the 49th FEBS Congress

FEBS has appointed the Turkish Biochemical Society (TBS) to host the 49th FEBS Congress (the "Congress"), supported by the Congress Secretariat Evronas Events. Evronas Events is responsible for organizational aspects of the Congress for participants. On registering for the event, participants (also referred to as "you") are entering an agreement with Evronas Events. By registering to the Congress, you are indicating your acceptance to the terms and conditions set out below.

Registration Fee

All participants must register via the online registration system. Registration fees for different categories of Congress participant are shown on the Registration page here.

Registration Fee for Participants includes:

  • Abstract handling
  • Admission to all scientific sessions
  • Entrance to poster & exhibition area
  • Light lunches and coffee breaks according to the programme
  • Name badge and pocket programme guide
  • Access to the Congress app for the event
  • Invitation to the Welcome Reception

Registration Fee for Accompanying Persons includes:

  • Entrance to poster & exhibition area
  • Invitation to the Welcome Reception 

Methods of Payment

Payments can be made via credit card or bank transfer. Payment must be made before the stated deadline that applies to your application.

Payment via Credit Card

Visa or Mastercard are accepted for credit card payments, which can be made online during the registration process. Confirmation of your credit card payment, along with registration confirmation, will be made available immediately after payment by an on-screen message and via an email. If you do not receive such a confirmation, nor a payment failure notice, please contact the Congress Secretariat.

Payment via Bank Transfer

Fees should be paid in EUR (€) (except for Turkish participants), free of all bank charges. Participant’s Name/Last Name and Congress Name (as "FEBS 2025") must be indicated on the transaction receipt of the bank transfer. Following the payment, receipt of the transaction must be sent to the Congress Secretariat. If you do not receive confirmation of your payment within 14 business days after the payment, please contact the Congress Secretariat. Bank transfer should be made to the following:

Payments by bank transfer will only be possible until June 28, 2024. After this date, registrations can only be made with credit card payment.

Registration Cancellation & Refund Policy

All registration cancellation requests should be sent to the Congress Secretariat in writing by e-mail to 
febs2025registration@evronas.com

  • Until 18 April 2025, for FEBS bursary applicants – a full registration fee refund will be given if requested if the registrant fulfilled the eligibility criteria and is not accepted into this support scheme.
  • Until 18 April 2025, for other registration fee refund requests – the full registration fee will be refunded minus a 50 EUR administrative fee for registrations paid with credit card and 100 EUR administrative fee for registrations paid by bank transfer.
  • From 18 April to 30 May 2025 – 50% of the registration fees will be refunded.
  • All refunds will be processed within 30 days after the Congress ends.   
  • From 31 May 2025 – no refund will be given.

Cancellation of other bookable items:

  • Until 30 May 2025 – a 20 EUR administrative fee will be deducted from all refunds. 
  • From 31 May 2025 – no refund will be given.

Change in registered name:

  • From 31 May 2025 – a name change will be considered as a modification and will be charged a 30 EUR administrative fee.

Travel Insurance

You should seek and follow the advice of your government before booking travel and accommodation for the Congress and before travelling to the event. You are solely responsible for making your own appropriate travel and other insurance arrangements before booking travel and accommodation for the Congress. FEBS, TBS and Evronas Events shall not be liable to you for any losses incurred.

Modification and Cancellation of the Congress

The Congress organizers are intending to run the Congress as a physical event, but if the organizers decide at any time that it is not possible to continue with a physical event due to pandemic or other such restrictions, the Congress may be held wholly or partly as an online meeting. The Congress organizers reserve the right to modify the Congress programme, which is published as an indication only.

If the physical and virtual Congress is cancelled, all organizing parties will endeavour to reimburse as much of the registration fee as possible, but this will depend on the timing of such a cancellation and organizational costs. In the unlikely case that the 49th FEBS Congress cannot be held in whole or in part or virtually due to any event beyond the organizers’ reasonable control, including (but not limited to) pandemic, civil unrest, natural disaster, adverse weather conditions, war, acts of terrorism, fire, closure of airports or acts of any government, neither FEBS nor TBS nor Evronas Events shall be held liable for any other costs or losses incurred, such as transportation and accommodation costs, or any other direct or indirect loss or consequential damage.

Please note that FEBS, TBS and Evronas will not be able to contact or intervene with any Embassy or Consulate office on behalf of a registrant. The invitation letter does not financially or legally obligate FEBS, TBS nor Evronas in any way. All expenses incurred in relation to the event and to obtaining a visa are the sole responsibility of the registrant. FEBS, TBS and Evronas do not accept any responsibility for registration, travel, accommodation and/or other costs incurred due to the rejection of a registrant’s visa application.

Disclaimer

The Congress organizers take all reasonable care in making arrangements, and shall in no event be liable for acts or omissions in the event of injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity of any kind whatsoever during arrangements organized through contractors. Hotels and transportation services are subject to the terms and conditions under which they are offered to the general public.

In the absence of any negligence or other breach of duty by FEBS, TBS or Evronas Events, these parties shall not be responsible for any bodily injury, illness, death or property damages (including theft) sustained by participants during the Congress.

In any event, neither FEBS nor TBS nor Evronas Events accept liability for damages or costs in the event of bodily injury, death, property damage, illness, disruption to travel plans and costs incurred as a result of events outside of the reasonable control of FEBS, TBS and Evronas Events, including (but not limited to) pandemic, civil unrest, natural disaster, adverse weather conditions, war, acts of terrorism, fire, closure of airports or acts of any government.

Data protection

FEBS is the data controller for personal data collected on this platform, and Evronas Events the appointed data processor when processing personal data on behalf of FEBS. Evronas Events may act as an independent data controller for its own activities such as payment processing. Governing Law

Any dispute resulting from the above terms and conditions will be subject to Turkish law, and by accepting these terms you are submitting yourself to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Türkiye.
